Earlier this month, the Future Business Leaders of America club participated in their state business leadership conference. Each student who attended participated in two different events against 1,300 students from across the state.

Each student who finished in the Top 10 would get to walk on stage along with the other qualifiers. A top 4 finish qualified them for the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Maryland which takes place later this summer.

“This year was quite a bit different than the previous years I was in the club. We had a strong presence of underclassmen that were new to the club, with only a few upperclassmen,” said Benji Davidson who has been in the club since freshman year.

There were a total of 27 top ten finishes from Scappoose High School, some being groups of two to three students and others being individual students. Multiple students finished in the top 10 for multiple events. A total of 10 groups placed in the top 4, qualifying them for the FBLA National Leadership Conference later this summer.

The overall winners in their respected group, were Andrew Morton in Intro to FBLA, Kyle Johnson in Networking Concepts and the trio of Kyle Johnson, Jacob Hamm and Belle Erhardt in Digital Video Production.

This years club has been one of the most successful in recent years with the most top 4 finishes since we began recording finishes in 2011.
